Zambales Sojourn - Potipot Island

Apr 5, 2009
Potipot Island
Zambales
After the Capones visit, we went back to Pundaquit to join Tita Cyndy and Kath before proceeding to Potipot Island.

Left Pundaquit around 11am already. The drive to Candelaria took about 2hrs and 1/2 at 80kph since one of the cars is being broken in and a slight delay because of the "accident".

Here I noticed how good the roads are in Zambales. No potholes at all!

We reached Dawal at half past 1pm so we decided to eat lunch first. We proceeded to Potipot Island around 3pm already.

Potipot---just a 3 minute banca ride from the resort--is a private island that used to have no structures at all. Now you can stay overnight on 'Kubos" they have installed in the whole island.  Pitching a tent is also allowed.

Creamy fine sand. You can choose any swimming area around the island. It is so small you can go around the island in 30 minutes.

Which I just did bringing my camera with me (after a short swim), while Stef & Neil went snorkeling, Tita Cyndy & Sir Willy circled half of the island, Tito Alain looking for birds as subjects, and Gia, Yaya Rose, Kath & Dean went swimming.

.By 5pm we were back in Dawal, showered, had merienda (while Sir Willy & family went ahead to Subic) and left Candelaria at 7pm.

Since Stephen's car can now run more than 100kph, we were in Subic in just 2 hours. Had coffee break before proceeding home.

I thought Zambales is far, but with just 5 hours trip (including coffee break) to Cavite, it was not at all.

In summary, it was a weekend of fun, meeting new friends, adventure, exercise (hahaha), exploration and appreciating one of God's beautiful creation...

I should do this more often!
